Teachers Screening and Placement

AMerican School International Center (AMSIC) connects Vietnamese schools with teachers by referring candidates' credentials to schools according to the requirements that these schools have provided.

AMSIC recruits teachers at all experience levels and in all academic fields for English as a Second Language (ESL) schools, Middle Schools, High Schools, and Vocational Training schools.

Upon receiving qualified resumes from candidates, AMSIC will first screen each candidate by phone, and then conduct an interview process in our Northern or Southern California offices. AMSIC coordinates each job offer with Vietnamese schools and presents the appropriate offer to the selected candidate. Upon accepting the job offered by a particular school, the candidate will be obligated to sign a contract for the assignment directly with the school.

The required qualifications for teachers are listed below.

  • Native English speaker
  • 2 years of teaching experience: some schools require more and others will accept less
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Master’s degree and a teachers’ certification are desirable
  • English language teaching certificates (TESOL or TEFL) are also a plus
  • Minimum of 2 references
  • Most schools require teachers to sign a 1 year contract at a minimum; some require 2 years or more.
